Dear Eleventh Grade English Teacher,
Hi! My name is Andrew Beck and I am a former student of the infamous Mr. Luizzi. I’m not going to tell you too much about myself because it’s probably in my file. Well, I don’t even know if I have a file! Oh well.
Next year I would like to continue to have a digital portfolio. It gives me an excuse to constantly be on the Internet. Also, this is a pretty fascinating medium. I can do a lot more with it than it to just contain my English work from 10th grade. What’s great about the HTML is that it will never allow my portfolio to become old and static. I think that it’s a lot more interesting than showcasing my work in a folder with a pile of disorganized papers. So, yes I would like to continue with a digital portfolio.
I would expect that 11th grade English would be more of a challenge than my previous year. With good reason though. This will help prepare me for more difficult work in my senior year and in college. Also, I heard that students taking AP US History also take English at that level though no AP credit is received. This applies to me so I should prepare over the summer. To do this I will be reading some of the novels that are read in 11th grade. Reading a novel twice would help me comprehend the story better and aid in me grasping new words and their meanings. I’m not really sure what novels we will be reading but I plan to investigate that with some help from those who have already taken 11th grade English. I also plan on doing some vocabulary work, not only help me on the SAT’s but to allow me to invigorate my work and spice it up with more sophisticated vocabulary.
Well, I’m not going to think about school for a while now. So enjoy your summer while I enjoy mine.
Sincerely,
Andrew Beck
